Sandya Kala… a Javanese word (derived from Sanskrit language of old India). Sandya means prayer and Kala means time. It bears the same meaning with Senja Kala which means at dawn (Senja= dawn), time during or after sunset, the last light before dim and dark. In Hindu tradition, dawn is the perfect time to set a prayer.
Many people will consider Sandyakala as a sign of decadence, the beginning of an end, the fall of once glory life. To make it worse, many religion lovers also believe the world is near at its end.
No no no,… this blog is not for any doomsday preacher.
I just love the moment when sun is set. Blazing light of blended red, yellow, blue, black and white. Regardless where your latitude is, sunset moment is a dish the taste never be the same again.
I’m a journalist live in Jakarta, a doomed city in Java island. Maybe I should write a short stories titled ‘Sandya Kala ning Jakarta’
